Man United & Barcelona

The day after Manchester United won the Europa League trophy, the Spanish media linked one of the Red Devils stars with a possible move to the Camp Nou.

While it’s yet to be confirmed, it’s now an open secret that Ernesto Valverde will be the next Barca coach after he left his post at Athletic Bilbao.

He’s expected to be unveiled as the new Catalan boss in the next few days.

Sport have announced Valverde has earmarked Ander Herrera as a priority signing this summer.

Herrera, of course, is well-known to Valverde as he played for Bilbao before he made the move to Manchester.

Sport note that Man United have no intention of letting Herrera go, while the player is under contract at Old Trafford until 2018.

Update in the Telegraph

According to the Telegraph on Monday, Herrera has no intention of making a move to Barcelona. The broadsheet tell their readers:

Ander Herrera will rebuff any advances from Barcelona by committing his future to Manchester United.

United are expected to start talks over a new deal for Herrera before the start of the new season in August.

That will clearly be good news for United, as they look to improve their squad for next season.

Also on Monday, the Spanish media have linked Gareth Bale with a possible move to Old Trafford.
