Premier League outfit Liverpool apparently want one of FC Barcelona's stars as part of any deal that would see Philippe Coutinho move the other way.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon, the English side want Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic included in any potential deal for their Brazilian playmaker.
Although the Merseyside club has gone on record as saying they will not sell their prized superstar this season, some believe they may budge if the Catalan club adds the former Sevilla star into the mix.
Rakitic has been a key player for the Blaugrana since joining them in 2014, going on to make 159 appearances for the club so far.
New Barca boss Ernesto Valverde is said to be keen to add a few new faces to his midfield, and has apparently identified Coutinho his number one target.
The Brazilian has also been tipped to be a replacement for his countryman Neymar, who is on the verge of moving to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
Coutinho made 36 appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp's men last season, scoring 14 goals and assisting nine further strikes.
