Brazil superstar Neymar has given his say on Lionel Messi's heroics that secured Argentina a place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The 30-year-old Argentine scored three times for his country in their 3-1 win over Ecuador on Wednesday morning, a result that sent the Albiceleste to the World Cup in Russia.
Neymar, who played in Brazil's 3-0 win over Chile on Wednesday, has insisted he is glad Messi helped his team qualify for the tournament.
"I'm happy for him," he said, according Ligue1.com
"I'm happy to see a friend participate in such an important competition.
"I also have friends in the Chile team but we're men, we have to play to win every game."
The four South American teams who have automatically qualified for the 2018 World Cup are Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Colombia, while Peru will play in a playoff against New Zealand in a bid to secure qualification for the prestigious competition.
