Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have shot dead two suspected armed robbers who were members of a robbery gang that allegedly attacked Dangote cement company at Ibese in the early hours of Saturday.
It was gathered that the gang numbering about seven armed with guns and other risky weapons, invaded the company, stimulated to the materials’ piece and attempted to steal armored cables.
The state police public relations Officer,Abimbola Oyeyemi, however, thought blessing ran against the hoodlums, as policemen on undertaking at the troupe were alerted by the company’s safekeeping men and they punctually stimulated to the scene.
He understood at what time the robbers sighted the policemen, they (robbers) engaged them in a firearm skirmish which lasted for about 40 minutes.
Oyeyemi, however, thought at the result of the encounter, one of the robbers was shot extinct whereas a different was arrested with somber gunfire wounds, but he soon died on the way to hospital. He thought the other members of the gang escaped with unreliable degrees of gun blast injuries.
Oyeyemi, an helper head of Police, explained that substance in good health from the robbers were; one locally complete single-barrelled gun, fourteen all gone cartridges, blade and a house-breaking equipment.
