Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui demands a new No.9 before the transfer window slams shut.

Los Blancos lost 4-2 to city rival Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup in Tallinn last week highlighted the lack of options in attack, and while Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are expected to emerge from Cristiano Ronaldo's shadow, Lopetegui wants a more reliable alternative to call

upon.

According to Marca claiming that Lopetegui wants a new centre back , midfielder and striker before September 1st with Mauro Icardi, Timo Werner and

Robert Lewandowski have been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

Lyon star Mariano and Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia are both targets by Los Blancos for such a short period, but the report suggested that club president  Florentino Perez and Jose Angel Sanchez believe the current squad  are

capable of retaining Champions League without more additions to side.

Lopetegui faces the prospect of heading into his debut season with Bale, Benzema and Marco Asensio in attack with two fringe players of Borja Mayoral and Raul de Tomas as a backup.
